With Hearts of Oak

The Sisters of the Presentation, San Francisco, trace their history from the five founding sisters who came from Ireland at the request of Bishop Joseph Alemany in 1854. They came to teach immigrants from all over the world flooding into California as a result of the Gold Rush and California becoming a state. With Hearts of Oak, written by Sister Rose Forest, PBVM chronicles the Sisters of the Presentation history up to the 1906 Earthquake of San Francisco. This is a great gift for anyone who loves history and the Sisters of the Presentation.

One Pace Beyond

The Sisters of the Presentation were founded in Cork, Ireland in 1775 by Nano Nagle and now serve the people of God throughout the world.
